New podcast invites you to discover Cocos Island through the voices of its main characters

The new podcast “The Island and its voices: Discovering Cocos Island National Park” premiered this Thursday, November 27, with the aim of bringing the population closer to this valuable natural treasure and the challenges it faces for its conservation.
Directed by the Cocos Marine Conservation Area (ACMC) and the Friends of Cocos Island Foundation (FAICO), the program opened with the stories of park ranger Guillermo Blanco, who recently retired after 23 years of service in this National Park.
“We want people to immerse themselves in the stories, corners, and efforts behind the protection of Cocos Island National Park, a treasure of which we are very proud and very committed to its conservation,”
“Starting with Don Guillermo as the first guest is a tribute to all the park rangers who dedicate their lives to the protection of our ecosystems” she added.
Don Guillermo, known for his humility and passion for plants, contributed with science with the discovery of a new species: Tachia Blancoi, which receives its scientific name to honour the surname of Don Guillermo.
